Google and local models

Everyone thinks Google’s AI is gonna go nowhere and they’re gonna lose the race, and it’s probably true.

But because Google is losing the AI race, they have nothing to lose.

So that means they can make everyone lose with them.

→ The Gemma models are good for the size that they are → I ran the 12B parameter model on my local mac and it was not bad at all → The 2B and 4B ones are pretty good for those sizes → The voice dictation they released with Gemma now is solid

If these local models could eventually get so great, all these companies are gonna go down since you can just run these models in your phone or in your computer.

And Google just might end up winning by making everyone else lose with them.
